Your mind is like a cloud and your thoughts are the wind. Just as a cloud can be moved by the wind, your mind can be moved by your thoughts, by the way of confusion or anticipation. By relaxing and staying calm, like the air which makes up a cloud, your thoughts flow more freely and it is no longer a manner of thinking, but feeling.
The air is all around you. You can feel it, though you can’t grasp it, but you can accept it by breathing and becoming a part of it, feeling everything around you for nothing surrounds air – air surrounds everything.
You must learn to feel, not think, for the mind is a person’s biggest opponent, but your soul is you.

For their first degree Black Belts, candidates are required to write a paper. There are no set rules for this; most candidates describe how Se-Jong has affected their lives, some responses have been as simple (and complex) as a painting or an object, or a poem.
